As early as I can remember, music has been apart of my life. My mother started teaching me to play piano somewhere around the age of 4. (It was probably because she got tired of hearing me bang nonsense on her piano!) When I was 8 years old, I finally started piano lessons with a private teacher. I continued them until I was a senior in High School. Classical music is pure joy for me when I play. Never could get the hang of modern music on the keyboard.
However, in the seventh grade, I found a new extention of my musical joy. The Flute! The flute has brought me new levels I never expected. In band I found kindred spirits....as well as some of my best friends. I have never had as much fun as I did during Marching Band (just proves something is wrong with me, doesn't it?)
I continued my flute studies through college as a music major.
