The Alien

Installment 1: The Birth

Since this is my first update, I have a lot I need to tell you.
Well, lets get this started.
And to do this, I'm gonna take you back to the beginning.

It was a dark and stormy night. There were sounds everywhere.
They were sounds like nothing no human had ever heard.
Completely alien. They were the sounds of a new life.

Not really, but it was sounding kinda fun, wasn't it?
(I know, that first sentence was supposed to be that bad)
Truthfully, Anna was born on a bright and shiny day near the end
of April (the 21st to be exact). I couldn't have paid
for a better day to tell the truth. And, after a lot of coersion,
she was born at 7lbs 14oz. and a short 18" long.

She was, of course, the most intelligent newborn in the hospital
at the time. (And there we 8 babies delivered by that doctor alone)
She had the most intelligent cry of them all,
and a mother knows. I could tell.
Her daddy was smitten from the first sight.
He was her first victim. There have been many since him.
Both of her grandfathers fell quickly, along with her Uncle Steve.
It was a really scary sight when her Great-grandfather
finally fell. The men came under her alien powers quickly.

Then the women started to fall. Her grandmother (Nana, btw)
was the first of these.
The woman is shameless.
Dotes on her at every chance given. Then her great-grandmothers
and aunts were quick to follow.
I alone, have some how managed to survive her grasps.

Suffice it to say, she has taken over many lives.
It takes all I have to just keep everything under semi-control.
However, she's growing into a rather normal child. (Her skills
are amazing, she is even allowing herself to go through
potty training as any other normal 2 yr old human).
My days stay busy trying to keep up with her.
She's presently into opening the fridge, coloring everything
that might resemble a book, pulling the dog's tail,
and chasing the cats. She loves screaming if something
doesn't go the way SHE thinks it ought to
and pudding is best served when it is on her head.

Mindy had it easier with Mork, ya know. ;)

She slipping a little more and more each day, though.
I see more and more of her facade fading. She absolutely
loves watching movies on the VCR (though she pretends not
to understand how to work it yet, I'M sure she really does).
She recently mind-melded me into buying Jungle Book (you know,
the Disney one). We have only had the tape in the house a week
and I have lost count of how many viewings we have had.

She, of course, has favorite characters out of this movie
. (this is where she lets things slip) Her favorite character
is Kaa, the snake. In fact, she told me that we have snakes
sleeping in the TV. This concerns me.
Is it a warning? Is it a ploy?
Only time will tell.
